The alligator is distinguished from the crocodile thanks to its wider muzzle but also by its color. The latter varies according to the water in which the animal evolves: green for the waters loaded with seaweed, black for the waters loaded with tannic acid. From the top of its 360 kg, the alligator has a relatively slow body which does not prevent it from performing short speed tips, especially when it comes to catching a prey.
