Founded in 1128 in Jerusalem, the Teutonic Order is the third major order of religious and military chivalry from the crusades. The first knights of this order were called Ste-Marie's brother and had the primary vocation of the relief of the sick or injured crusaders, before being reorganized in 1190 in military order. This renewal submitted the knights both to the rule of hospital workers but also to that of the Templars.
