The gray wolf is not a lonely animal and it must live in packs so that it can fully flourish. Indeed, the perfect social cohesion that reigns within wolf packs allows them to hunt, occupy a territory and communicate without any difficulty. The pack is therefore a family group, generally composed of a dozen individuals. The scheme of a pack is normally made up of a dominant couple, and wolves that this couple gave birth to years ago. Each pack has its own territory that it is responsible for defending against any intruder. The dimensions of the territory of a gray wolf pack vary according to food resources in the environment, but in principle it covers no less than several hundred square kilometers. The limits of this territory are marked by odoriferous deposits in order to notify the rival packs.
