The Manta ray is the largest of all the line species, up to 9 meters wide and weigh almost 3 tonnes. She lives in tropical waters, often not far from coral reefs. What characterizes this very peaceful and harmless planctivore creature is obviously its two large fins or "wings". Its black back contrasts with its white belly on which 5 pairs of wounds are arranged. She has in front of her head, 2 particularly impressive horns which earned her the name "Devil des Mers". Their function is to direct the water to its mouth to filter it and feed on the planton it contains. Particularly graceful, the Manta ray evolves in groups of a few individuals and is sometimes approached by divers.
