Papo Whale calf (2018)

The humpback whale is one of the biggest animals in the world. Present in the oceans and seas around the world, this cetacean mammal measures on average about fifteen meters and can weigh up to 40 tonnes. What characterizes it is its very large fins and the protuberances that cover its head. It is also distinguished by its black color on the top and whitish below which it sometimes admires during spectacular jumps out of the water. In addition to their majesty, whales are known for their complex songs that resonate for us as a strange and fantastic melody. The latter may also play an important role during the nuptial parades. In the humpback whale, mating is made of tropical or hot waters and is followed by a one -year gestation. After birth, the whale will remain dependent on his mother until he was 6 years old, a period at which he has become sufficiently imposing and is therefore no longer an easy prey for his predators.
