The polar wolf, also called the Arctic wolf, lives in the northern part of North America. Smaller than some other canid subspecies, it can still measure up to 120 cm long (including tail) for 45 kg on average. Recognizable by its white and thick fur, its short legs and its rounder nose, the polar wolf can withstand temperatures up to 60 ° C. But these extreme conditions make coupling difficult. The male and the alpha female are the only ones to have the right of reproduction within the pack and after 2 months of gestation alone 2 to 3 cubs are born. These are born blind and deaf and are therefore entirely dependent on their mother.
